June, 2008 - Effective June 1, 2008, Theo is pleased to announce that he has relocated his office to the New York Irish Center Building in Long Island City, Queens. January, 2008 - Theo is selected to serve as a New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission Administrative Law Judge
May, 2007 - Theo is certified as meeting the State of New York's requirements to be appointed as a court-appointed GUARDIAN and COURT EVALUATOR, Pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge and Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law.
April, 2007 - Landmark arbitration victory over clearing firm CONFIRMED in U.S. District Court, Tampa, Florida (Kostoff v. Fleet, ndba ADP). On April 5, 2007, US District Court Judge James D. Whittemore Ordered and Adjudged that the Kostoff Petition for Confirmation of Arbitration Award and Request for Attorney Fees and Costs be GRANTED, and, DENIED the clearing firm's cross-petition to vacate the arbitration award. The matter is pending finalization while the Judge reviews our motion for attorney fees. The clearing firm has filed a "motion for reconsideration" with Judge Whittemore.
December, 2006 - Theo joins AILA (the American Immigration Lawyers Association). Millions of repressed peoples around the world live in fear of the "knock in the night" when the jackbooted thugs of oppression come calling. Since 2003, Theo has successfully advocated on behalf of scores of immigrants fleeing political, religious and ethnic persecution - winning cases for individuals seeking political asylum in the United States. He has offered to represent some asylum seekers on a pro bono basis.
October, 2006 - Theo attends 2006 PIABA Annual Meeting and Securities Law Seminar at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson, Arizona. This intellectually vigorous, week-long seminar and networking event amongst the finest securities litigators in the country provided Theo over 20 hours of continuing legal education credits, with a focus on securities law and arbitration.
While Theo has no new arbitration victories to post in 2006, during the year he has settled numerous cases returning hundreds of thousands of dollars to aggrieved investors. Due to confidentiality restrictions, no further information on these matters may be provided.
